A small job shop rents an industrial bay, takes in drawings or sketches, and fabricates brackets, stair stringers, railings, weldments, machine guards, and repair parts. A production fabrication shop runs repeat part programs for OEMs and contractors, with fixtures, material handling, and multiple welders under one roof.

Who buys: general and specialty contractors (structural steel, handrail, embeds), property managers and municipalities (fence, gate, dumpster enclosure, bollard repair), trucking and trailer fleets, farms and ranches, marine and dock operators, food and beverage plants needing sanitary stainless TIG, machine shops needing weld repairs on parts they cannot scrap, and homeowners for one-off gates and railings. Who actually pays a welder in 2026
